Looks like the Caps ARE getting the band back together (2nd Asst Coach named)

Well it's official Caps fans.....Tim Hunter is the 2nd Asst Coach of the Capitals.

He will be joining head coach Adam Oates and Asst Coach Calle Johannson  as the final piece of the coaching staff for the Capitals for the 2012-2013 season.

The Capitals announced it at 11:15am:  Official Link to Caps press release HERE

It seems he wanted to come back to the lower 48 and rejoin us back here in Washington.

I'm hearing MANY mixed review on this.  I'm rather excited on this am certainly curious at the upcoming team dynamic and hope it's a good one. Now all we can do is wait....UGH....WAITING sucks.

Some Fung Shui for your life

A close friend of mine sent me an email with these in it, I usually don't forward or send stuff out like this...BUT, it really makes sense.  Enjoy!

ONE.
Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO.
Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE.
Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR.
When you say, 'I love you,' mean it.
FIVE.
When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
SIX.
Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN.
Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT.
Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE...
Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN..
In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN.
Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE.
Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN.
When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
FOURTEEN.
Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
FIFTEEN.
Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN.
When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
SEVENTEEN.
Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN.
Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN.
When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice

TWENTY- ONE.
Spend some time alone.

Washington Capitals CANCEL their 4th Annual Caps Convention

SERIOUSLY!?!?!?

Ugh.

The Caps have cancelled the upcoming 4th annual Caps Convention due to the CBA uncertainty.

The Capitals released this statement yesterday afternoon that reads:

The Capitals Convention has been a tremendous success in its first three years, attracting sold-out crowds of more than 6,500 fans to the day-long interactive celebration of the Washington Capitals. This annually features the entire Capitals roster and prominent alumni from around the world. In the past the Caps Convention has been held in late September or early October. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the collective bargaining agreement the Capitals have decided not to hold a convention in 2012, but the event will return in the fall of 2013.

I personally was unable to go to it this year, BUT many of my friends who do and including myself are VERY disappointed at not having this opportunity.  More even so that the NHL and NHLPA are back where they were before with the CBA junk.

my final thought on this....The NHL will NOT survive another lockout!!!

Capitals player re-signing: Mike Green

The Caps have renewed their contract with Mike Green for the next 3 YEARS!!!!

Apparently he was originally offered a 1 year extension, he turned it down.  Said then that he was hoping for a 2  year deal and the Caps came back with a 3 year $18.5 Million contract.  He reportedly said he was happy because he likes Washington. (we like him too)

He earned $5 million each of the past three seasons, got a raise with this new deal. He will earn $6 million each of the next two seasons and $6.25 million in 2014-15, which makes the salary cap hit $6.083 million.

I'm happy for the Caps on this extension.
