Here you go it is a parody of the controversial cherrios ad that received so much racial back lash by by having a bi-racial couple and a mixed child.

I am a believer that hate is an awful thing and that in this day in age that people would be smarter and see past such petty things as skin color and race.  But I guess some are not there just yet.  I anxiously await the day when all of us can be united and this world can put racism and such to rest.

My first thought when I saw this...was and kind of still is EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

But now that I think about it...

the sweet and savory thing is not such a bad idea if the mix is proper and not over done.

Here is the ad I initially saw on Facebook.

If the cheese is melted and it is a regular doughnut and such it looks better than what is above.  The Today show had Kathy Lee and Hoda eating these on air.  They were talking with their mouths full as to how good they were. I could not help but laugh. 

If I could find a video of that I would post it (but the show is still on) if I find one before the end of the day I will.

I know it's Tuesday, BUT....

I know it's Tuesday...

But for some unknown strange reason my mind thinks it's Monday....

What the heck is my mind and body thinking??? Have you ever had this kind of week?? Geeze...maybe it's the weather and all of this craziness and such.  I don't know.  But dang.  I need to get my head on straight for this weekend so I can celebrate my day of birth correctly!

I've been lucky enough not to have them where I live this year.  But 17 years ago I wasn't so lucky and I got to see them in FULL force and let me tell you that was sooooooo scary.

When you are young and they are crawling everywhere...yeah that is scary.

However I came across this amazing video:

Have you ever been rocking out or jamming to a song in your car/house and thought that you'd like to sing along but didn't know the words?  "Hey" you think "I'll just look up the lyrics and learn them" so the next time you cue up the song you'll be able to really get down and jam to the some.  BUT....

Yeah...that happened to me. And Nope, i'm not telling what the song was, i'm to embarrassed (to be honest). But I thought I was pretty good about being dialed in to the lyrics of songs. Especially lately.  But apparently I wasn't.

But it really depends on the mood I'm in.  But caffeine is the driving factor. However I'm a TEA person first and foremost (honestly, sorry coffee).

Saving Money is not as difficult as you think

One thing that I truly have a difficult time doing is SAVING MONEY!

Yep! It's true.  Usually the kids need something (yeah I blamed it on the kids uh huh...LOL)  But usually it's something related to a bill or a household need or even a vehicle repair that most of the time sets my bank account on its rear.

But I found this online..and even on a super strict budget this is totally doable and totally to your advantage:

You can start week one whenever (and not just at the beginning of the year so don't use THAT excuse). So this is a GREAT way to save some $$$.  I think this is fantastic.

What to say about Tuesday??

Well, not much can be said about today. Other than:

Eh, it's ok. Don't worry just be sure to get a favorite beverage of yours (what ever it may be) and take a moment for yourself and relax for a second.  Even those precious moments are nice, no matter how few they may be for some of us.

Game of Thrones, June 2nd Episode - WOAH! - NO Spoilers don't worry

Yeah I'm one of the masses that is in awe about the Game of Thrones (GoT) episode last night.
I'm obsessed with this series, as most of the loyal to it have become:

We waited over 6 months for season 3

and last nights episode (don't worry I won't put spoilers in here) and goodness knows how long we will have to wait for season 4.  But after last nights episode I just need to remember all the advise that I have got from those that have read the books, and the best one is "Don't get attached to any character, however safe you think they are."  OMG, I never realized how correct that advice was until after last nights episode.

All I can say and am still staying is, HOLY CRAP!!

Now we still have 1 more episode and I'm sure it's going to be rather EPIC. But last nights episode was rather incredible to say the least.  I'm anxiously awaiting the season finale and the amazing twist that is upon us (I don't know what it is...but I know there is one coming).

Just LOVE Cherrios!! Don't you?

Well in this day in age you think people would be a little more open minded, right?

I guess not.  Well, check out the newest commercial that has gone viral...YEP, it's a Cherrios commercial (and it only went viral because of the comments it got on the YouTube channel, which have now been disabled) Watch it...it's only 30 seconds.

I really liked this commercial when I saw it and it made me smile and laugh actually. As most of these commercials do, because I have kids (and I can see them doing these things).  But all of the racial back lash that this is causing is just nauseating.

Seriously people, what are you going to do when Cherrios puts a same-sex couple or better yet a same-sex inter-racial couple in a commercial?  I'm sure all hell is gonna break loose.  As for me.... I can't wait.

Way to go Cherrios in staying strong and not removing the commercial and keeping it up and out there for all of us to see!  THANK YOU!!

Should be it's very own food group...COOKIE BUTTER!

I feel VERY strong about this.

Trader Joe's has a product called Speculoos Cookie Butter.

There is an original and a crunchy version (my opinion, original is the better version).  This is very similar to a peanut butter type product but made with gingerbread and crushed biscuits.  Let me just tell you.  It is HEAVEN in every mouthful.  Some people don't like it, yes I do understand that.
As for me, I think I deserves to be it's very own food group I could eat it that often and not get sick of it.

In fact, I have 2 jars in my pantry at the moment.

Have you ever tried this product?  Have you ever used it in something (like baking) other than eating it with a spoon or spreading it on something?  I use it in a few baking recipes and get RAVING reviews every time (it's my secret weapon, heehee....well not any more)

Survey for Starbucks...YAY!

Got to do a survey for Starbucks today. YAY!!

Have you ever done one??  Well when you are done you get a dollar off your next purchase. (Hey a $1 off is better than full price)  Well it used to be that when you did these you would get a free DRINK of your choice.  But I guess that started to get pricey.  LOL

I really like the Starbucks location near my office, I only go there once and a while. But when I do I am greeted by name every time by the manager (how she does that I'll never know) and the staff always get the order right.  If they don't, they will make you a new order (no questions asked, EVER).  I love that place.

Is there a place that you've gone that you really like that has made you feel as welcome as this? If so please let me know, I'd love to go or at least know of it so I can be on the look out for it if I'm ever in your area.

Hoping for a fix to the problem.

March for Babies Walk - A SUCCESS!!!

The March of Dimes/March for Babies walk on Sunday, May 5th at Reston Town Center, VA was an amazing success!!!! Thanks to the amazing generosity of so many I was able to raise $425 (with my goal being only $300).

 You all are so AWESOME!!!!
 I'm posting pictures below of the GREAT day. I am so proud of how great everything went and at the experience of the day. A new and fabulous/expanded team... can't wait until next year.

4 Days until March of Dimes Walk - only $30 short of my goal PLEASE HELP!!

Hey there all!! I'm so excited. Sunday, May 5th is almost here. Reston Town Center is going to be so awesome and full of excited walkers/runners this weekend. The event is always so much fun. I also can't believe I'm only $30 short of my fundraising goal. OMG!!! Can you all please help me reach it?!?! PLEASE!!! Remember this is a tax deductible donation as well!! Please I'll be working for your money by walking on Sunday! I will post a picture of the team before the walk on Sunday and after I finish as well!! Just like last year. I'm so excited, I feel giddy. I also want to extend so much gratitude to those that have donated funds already. Your generosity really makes my heart swell each time I get a notification and I literally tear up each time. I am doing the March of Dimes walk again this year on Sunday May 5th at the Reston Town Center in Northern Virginia (Near Dulles International Airport).

This is my second year and I'm gladly walking for this great cause.  It is very near and dear to my heart.  It is because of the research the March of Dimes has done and helped with that my daughter is alive and healthy today and I will be forever grateful for that.  She tried to deliver at 27 weeks and with the medicine and care I received (and the long 62 day stay in the hospital, which you can read about in this blog if you look back in my archive...I have a blog for literally EVERY day in the hospital)  she was born full term and very healthy and never spent 1 day in the NICU which was a miracle in itself.

I usually never do this but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!  PLEASE DONATE.  Even if it is only $1.  It doesn't matter.  All funds will help this cause.

April 1 = April Fools Day

Well Happy April 1 or as some like to say Happy April Fools Day!

Not to worry, you have nothing to fear from me.  I really stink and pull off or even putting together a practical joke let alone pulling one off.  I'm a terrible liar.  I can stretch/bend the truth if needed but that is as far as it goes and I'm even terrible at that because persons can usually see right through it.  I'm completely transparent.  That's why I just tell it like it is, no point in wasting time.  Just get it out.  Of course there is always a time and a place for everything, I am mindful of that.  I'm not rude about it.  I just with others were as kind sometimes.

I hope you all have a great Monday and that you are all not fooled or pranked too badly today.  Feel free to share your best memories or best jokes.  I would love to hear them.  I'm not that educated in the art of April Fools.  Anyone care to share?
